Bradford-Hill Criteria

Nine widely used criteria to determine the strength of an association between a disease and its supposed causative agent. This was established by Sir Austin Bradford Hill, a British medical statistician.

Cysteine

A hydrophobic amino acid that is an important structural and functional component of many proteins and enzymes

Dementia

A group of symptoms caused by disorders affecting the brain. People with dementia cannot think logically enough for normal activities and can lose their ability to solve problems or control their emotions. There are many forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

An essential amino acid formed from proteins that is necessary for normal growth and development, and is the precursor to several substances, including serotonin and niacin
