Nutritional Processes in HIV/AIDS

Dr Foster’s Medical Hypothesis of ‘What Really Causes Alzheimer’s Disease’

Through his research, Foster investigated the areas of the world where Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is most prevalent, to uncover factors which could be contributing to the disease. He found that a number of toxic metals were common to these particular geographic locations, which showed up in the hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) (an HTMA accurately measure the levels of heavy metals and minerals in the body) of people living in these areas. These metals include  mercury, aluminum, and others. He also found that these people lacked certain nutrients in their diet which compounded the effect of the metal toxicity.

Heavy Metal Toxicity

We are exposed to toxic metals on a daily basis in our environment and even in our homes from our carpets, couches, and kitchen countertops, which we absorb through inhalation and our skin. We also intake these toxins from our food and drink, which are often wrapped in aluminum and plastic packaging.  Research indicates that 65% of the North American population has at least 1 heavy metal in a toxic range in their bodies.

These toxic elements compete with nutritional compounds for receptor sites on individual cells, causing mineral deficiencies and tissue poisoning. In AD, the toxicity causes the build up of two types of proteins in the brain called beta-amyloid and tau proteins, which form plaques, blocking and tangling the communication pathways between brain cells. Once communication begins to break down, so does the ability to think clearly, make decisions, remember, read, write and speak.  In addition these blockages inhibit the movement of vital nutrients and oxygen in the brain, causing the increase of oxidative stress, inflammation and the breakdown of many more enzyme and hormone (biochemical) pathways.

It is critical to remove (or chelate out) the toxic metals in patients with AD and other forms of dementia, as well as provide them with the nutrients to ‘kick start’ the biochemical pathways which are dysfunctional in the brain. Neuron Plus has been carefully formulated to include the specific nutrients in a bioavailable form and in the right doses to get rid of the heavy metal and replace the nutrients which are needed for the optimal functioning of the brain.
